Christmas sewing

Posted on

I was super busy on the run up to Christmas and I must confess I love it.  It all adds up to one of my favourite times of the year.  It’s not about shops and spending money I don’t have its about the celebration of christmas.  The church services the panto the food the family time.  I just love it all.  I especially love the chance to say a thank you to my loved ones by the giving of a gift which we are told comes from the wise mens gifts to Jesus.  Those gifts were all about health, wealth and prosperity.   Of course lots of my gifts are home made but I hope that everyone receiving gifts gets a little something to make them smile and feel fortunate for what they have in life.

I sewed 10 bears in total.  4 monkeys and made 8 pots of caramel sauce lol.

These 5 daddy bears went to the same family all in time for christmas. They were made to commemorate a father and husband and each was made from parts of clothes carefully chosen.  They turned out beautifully.

As each animal comes to life I like to think they have their own little personalities. They live on my bookcases each day while I am busy during the day and it’s fun to see the shelves gradually get busier and busier.

Of course this year we also had that mischievous elf in the house but on one night he turned his mischief into help and finished off my evening’s sewing. He he. You have to laugh don’t you. Life can be fun in all sorts of little ways.

The next two bears also went with 2 cheeky sock monkeys.

The next two bears to be posted out were made specially for a good friend of mine from her granddaughters baby clothes with one of her daughter, their mummy’s shirts too. They were super bright and colourful. Almost identical they had matching arms and legs. I had fun planning these.

The very last bear was for my mum and I need to go and take his photo.
